Millennium Bridge

The Millennium Bridge
London
EC4 (North bank) to SE1 (South bank)

The Millennium Bridge is the first new bridge across the river Thames since Tower Bridge opened in 1894 and the first ever designed for pedestrians only.

The Millennium Bridge links St Pauls Cathedral on the North side of the Thames to the Tate Modern on the south side.

The Bridge open on the 10th June 2001 and closed two days later on the 12th June 2001 due to the ‘sway movement’ caused by the huge amount of people crossing the bridge, after extensive modifications the bridge reopened on the 27th February 2002.
